BMW's G 650 GS dual-intention machine has always leaned a little more towards the road side of the spectrum, largely due to its 19" front rim and constrained suspension travel. It still did everything fairly well but never felt quite as home on the mud as some of the competition. Its low seat height of 800mm or an even lower optional 770mm heart height however made adventure-touring accessible to shorter folk and its qualification under the LAMS scholar scheme was the icing on the cake that assured the model marketplace celebrity.
