Max Astell's home-made bikes are small, tall and fun for all

"It's probably like riding a bike regularly," Astell said. "The only inconsistency is up and down."

Inspired by "Chicago Freak Bike" the site of its first year, Astell Jefferson joined the Rat stand Bicycle Club. It all started with a Trek BMX bike he found on the road. He has since started a bike co- op in Jefferson and accepts donations of old or new bike.

Baldwin-Wallace College bike co-op sponsors Sept. 24 block party

BEREA -- Bike, eat, romp, skate and have fun at Saturday’s Berea Walk & Roll chunk party.

The Baldwin-Wallace College Bike Co-operative is dollop sponsor this free block party from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 24 at E. Fifth and Front streets. After the block function, a 90-minute bike ride will flow along the streets through the New Zealand urban area.

BMX: Lokinski, Gamelin keeping Owosso tradition alive

OWOSSO — Chris Lokinski and Alan Gamelin are among the caretakers of Owosso’s extensive BMX racing tradition.

Gamelin was the runner-up to Lokinski in the Cruiser Apportioning’s 36 to 40 age group during the American Bicycle Association’s BMX Stage Championships on Aug. 27 at Richfield Park in Davision. Their Badditude teammate Chris Miller finished third.
