Visiting the delta: Montezuma Hills attracts photographer who likes light
The Sacramento Delta is an odd and enchanting place, a sparsely populated region where farmers, fishermen and tourists co-pal up in the bars and restaurants, where eccentric characters seem to thrive amid a indirect maze of sloughs.
Odd sights abound here. On my last visit, in early failure, an old rotting steamboat floated in the river near a popular windsurfing location, just downstream from Rio Vista. Cattle grazed on one side of the levee technique, while upstream were pear and apple orchards, fields of corn and grapes.
